Dresses of Hope

Matthew 25

"The King will say to those on his right,'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me some thing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me some thing to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did you see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

Pictures From Haiti

Here are a few pictures of the girls wearing some of the dress we made. Please email me, sisterhope08@yahoo.com, if you want to see a picture of your dress and I can email it to you. Thanks again for putting a smile on these girls' faces. The person that delivered them said that every dress she handed out she told them that Jesus loved and cared about them.

Dress Patterns

Hi Ladies,
I thought you might be interested in seeing how to make a strap dress. This pattern is a little old but still works. If you are interested I posted instructions.
Sorry for the misspelling. The pictures and writing took forever and now it won't let me go back and correct it.For a 5T dress the width should be a 15 1/2" (add 1" seam) The length should be 21" (again add 1" for seam.) Also instead of ripping the dress we now sew the elastic in the hem, at the top of the dress.
You can do these kind of straps or you can do a halter top with ribbon.

Dresses of Hope Going to Malawi

This week some "dresses of hope" are going with my friend, Leta, to Malawi, Africa. Malawi is a small, skinny country in the southern part of Africa. Leta is a college student from Indiana Wesleyan University and is traveling there to work with orphans and kids in poverty. Please pray for Leta and her team. Hopefully I will have pics to post when she returns:)

A Video That Warms My Heart

I think this video is so cool! Seems like they truly know God. They are orphans, living in complete poverty yet have so much joy and faith in God. They're definitely singing to their ultimate father, God. Sometimes I think that in America we have so much stuff, food, clothing etc. that we rely on things on earth to help us through our days, not really giving our hurts, troubles and decisions up to God. In Haiti they have very little but some seem to lean on God more. They get it! They understand him. Check out this video! :)

Dresses of Hope In Port-Au-Prince, Haiti

Last February, the dresses were delivered to an orphanage in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Our friend that traveled delivered the dresses said that they love them. She also said that they loved picking out there dresses. I'll post this later but she also captured a video of a few of the girls singing to god in there new dresses. Thanks again for every single thing each one of you has done with Dresses of Hope to clothes girls in poverty. Every effort you've done whether it was sewing a dress, coming to a sewing day or praying for a little girl that got a dress you made, remember you are doing it for God. I also wanted to share with you that we have made over 400 dresses since November 2009!

Change of Plans

Wanted to let everybody know that the dresses for India are actually going to orphans in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti this week. The person that was going to deliver them to India had a change of plans and is in Haiti.

Pictures From Caracol Haiti!

We sent 75 dresses to Caracol! They picked some of the poorest kids in the community to come and get dresses. Also the boys got shorts so both the girls and the boys got clothes. Thanks again for praying and making this possible. :)
